Discover the art and science of working with molten glass in our hands-on Intro to Glassblowing class at Tucson Torchworks. Designed for complete beginners, this 2-hour session introduces you to the fundamentals of torch safety, equipment handling, and shaping molten glass.
With expert guidance from our resident instructors, you’ll learn step-by-step how to safely operate a bench torch, melt and manipulate borosilicate glass, and create your very first glass piece to take home. Each student receives one-on-one support throughout the session, making this the perfect entry point for anyone curious about lampworking, torchwork, or the glass arts.

Introductory flameworking glass class for beginners. Begin working in hollow forms with an emphasis on pipemaking. We will start with a simple one hitter/chillum design and learn how to add color and basic patternwork. Students will also attempt basic seals, pulling points, and blowing a bubble. This is the perfect class for anyone looking to get into the craft and will be an excellent starting point for those interested in blown hollow work and color.
